Linda E. Clausen was born July 10, 1947, in Dawson, MN, to George H. and Verna A. (Connor) Clausen. She was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church in Dawson and recently been attending church at the Full Gospel Assembly in Canby, MN.
She lived from 1960-1969 at the Cambridge State Hospital, 1969-1971 at Trevilla of Robbinsdale, 1971-1992 at the Madison Lutheran Home, and from January, 1993 until the present at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Allan and JoAnn Clausen.
Linda enjoyed attending church, cooking, planning trips into the community, calling friends on the telephone, listening to music on cassettes, babysitting and enjoying her great nieces, attending the DAC, and going to summer camp of which she just attended form Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. She spread joy wherever she was.
Linda died on Thursday, October 1, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 51.
She is survived by three brothers: Allan and his wife, JoAnn, of Madison, Donald of rural Boyd, and Larry and his wife, Rachel, of Ghent; nieces and nephews; two great nieces: Constance Clausen and Raelyn Teigland; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George (1959) and Verna (1989) Clausen; sister, Nancy Clausen (1975); and brother, Stanley Clausen (1982).
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 1998 at the Full Gospel Assembly in Canby, MN. with Pastor Don Van Klompenburg officiating. Scriptures for the message were Psalm 149, Matthew 18:1-5, John 14:1-6, and I Thessalonians 4:13-18. JoAnn Clausen was the pianist for the service and organist, Dr. Hector Aybar, accompanied the congregational hymns "We're Marching to Zion" and "When We All Get To Heaven". Pastor Don Van Klombenburg was also the vocal soloist who sang "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy". Amy Clausen, Jerod Clausen, Maria Teigland, Tanya Clausen, Larry Clausen Jr., Sherri Clausen, and Amanda Clausen were the honorary casketbearers and the active casketbearers were Jon Clausen, Timothy Clausen, Jeremy Teigland, Jeremy Van Klompenburg, and Joshua Van Klompenburg.
