Linda (Harberts) Tollakson

Linda Kay Tollakson, of Dawson, died Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Madison Care Center in Madison, MN at the age of 71.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, rural Dawson, MN.  Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the service on Friday.

Linda Kay (Harberts) Tollakson was born on April 21, 1951 in Dawson, MN to Clarence and Irene Harberts. She was the 8th born of 13 children.  Linda was baptized on June 24, 1951 and she reaffirmed her faith at Providence Valley Lutheran Church on August 12, 1973.  She grew up on a farm in Yellow Medicine County and attended Country School District #58 near her family farm.  Linda graduated from Dawson High School in 1969.

Linda married Roger Tollakson on June 21, 1969 and to this union three children were born: Melissa, Angela and Timothy.  She was employed at the Madison Lutheran Home as a certified nursing assistant for 21 years and retired in February 2006.  Linda was blessed to receive a double lung transplant on February 17, 2009.  She truly enjoyed nature, flowers, birds, and helping around the farm.  Linda always enjoyed calling to talk to her sisters and friends.  She would stop and visit family and friends as often as she could.  Some of her favorite travels were to Branson and Florida with her sisters and to Wisconsin, to visit her daughters and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her children: Melissa (Tony) Devine, Elk Mound, WI, Angela Russo, Elk Mound, WI, Timothy Tollakson, Dawson, MN; step-son, Scott Tollakson, St. Cloud, MN; Grandchildren: Rob (Nicki) Devine, Wausau, WI, Brandon (Erin) Devine, Eau Claire, WI, Brooke (Ryan) Mueller, Elk Mound, WI,  Kaden Russo, Elk Mound, WI, Brenna (Danny) Tuckett, Ortonville, MN, Kadie Reil, South Dakota, Hudson Kress, South Dakota, Joshua (Amanda) Johnshoy, Rochester, MN, Glenn (Cassy) Tollakson, Monticello, MN; great-grandchildren: Hans and Miley Devine, Zirah, Ray, and Skye Devine, Braxtyn, Isabella and Trenton Tuckett, Logan and Lauren Johnshoy, Giovanni, DeLuca, and Blair Tollakson; sisters: Delores (Donny) Ochs, Bonnie (Rod) Portele, Judy (Roger) Mead, Ilene Lehmann, Shirley (Mel) Svoboda, Debra (Duane) Mead; in-laws: Madalyn Gustafson, Darlyne and Alice Tollakson, Mike Erp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene; her husband, Roger; in-laws, James and Marie; siblings: Beverly, Roger, Curtis, twins- Doug and Dennis, Cheryl; step-children: Nora, Jack; brothers and sisters in-law: Jerry, Ardys, Carol, Linda, Kay, DuWayne, Orville, Kenneth, Grace, Mel, Wilton, Lawrence; as well as  nieces and nephews.
