Linnae M Lindemann

June 7, 1922 — January 4, 1998

Linnae M. Lindemann was born June 7, 1922 in Oshkosh Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN, the son of Herman and Hannah (Swenson) Lindemann.  He was baptized and confirmed in Providence Valley Lutheran Church.  He attended elementary school in a one-room rural school.  He suffered a childhood illness that left him with a walking and hearing disability but these handicaps were of little hinderance to his many accomplishments.  He graduated from Canby High School, during the WW II years he attended St. Cloud University, and during his under-graduate study he participated in training and teaching at the Vocational Center at St. Cloud and at the St. Cloud Reformatory.  He graduated with a teaching degree in 1946, majoring in Industrial Arts Technical Education, Biology, and Fine Arts and did his graduate study at the University of Northern Colorado, receiving his MA degree in 1955.  He also took several endorsements and license to teach in the metals field of Vocational Education, adult education, and trained at NRA Schools of Gunsmithing in Trinidad, CO as a Arms Engraver.  During his retirement years he went back to Schools of the NRA, specializing in arms engraving, gun restoration and advance gunsmithing.
Linnae was married to Vantyne Wulling in Clara City, MN on June 19, 1951.  To this union one son, Charles, was born.  He came to Dawson in 1947 and taught Industrial Arts & Vocational education for 35 years.  He was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in 1982.  For over 50 years he established, owned, and operated "Certified Firearm Service," a Federally Licensed and NRA trained business.
Linnae loved working, teaching and spending time with people of all ages.  He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council, boards, and taught Sunday School.  He was a life member of NRA and he enjoyed traveling, camping, and hunting.
Linnae died on Sunday January 4, 1998 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 27 days.
He is survived by one son, Charles and his wife Monica of Marshall, MN; three grandchildren: Chad, Chrissy, and Callin Lindemann; and a twin sister, Lois Norgaard of Granite Falls, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Vantyne on May 6, 1997.
