Lloyd Raymond Larson

Lloyd Larson, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, February 10, 2002 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.

Funeral services will conducted on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lois Knutson officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Lloyd Raymond Larson was born on December 26, 1916 in Milan, MN to Jacob and Agatha (Running) Larson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Big bend Lutheran Church and attended the Stone School.  On October 14, 1940 he was united in marriage to Fern Angrimson in Montevideo.  He served in the US Army during WWII and served in Okinawa.   He farmed and did construction work for 14 years and worked at lumber yards for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was a long-time member of the VFW and American Legion.   He was a great sportsman and loved hunting, fishing an gardening.  He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; five children: Loraye Backer and her husband Jim of Glenwood, MN; Jerry Larson and his wife Donna of Granite Falls, MN; Betty Ulferts and her husband Ron of Raymond, MN; Debra Lauritsen and her husband Bob of Montevideo and Cynthia Kleven of Montevideo; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, J. Vernon Larson of Milan, MN as well as by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandsons: Joel Olson; Wade Olson and Kimm Larson; a great granddaughter, Amanda Flinn; a sister, Alice Berven ;  by brothers, Elroy Larson and Arthur Larson and by a brother and sister in infancy.
