Lloyd Norman, of Montevideo, died on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 78.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 11 at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service starting at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Lloyd Eugene Norman was born in Montevideo, MN on December 1, 1940 to Floyd and Ella (Wollschlager) Norman. He was baptized and confirmed at Havelock Lutheran Church. Lloyd attended Central School and graduated in 1958. He worked with his father and 2 brothers maintaining roads, driving motor grader. He worked in construction until 1966 when he entered the US Army from 1966-1968, with 1 year in Vietnam. Following discharge from the Army he attended Granite Falls Technical College and drove school bus part time. He then went to work for Mooneys Inc. Lloyd worked construction as a blade operator for different companies until retirement in 2009. Lloyd was united in marriage to Carol Johnson on October 28, 1961. To this union one son, Todd was born.
Lloyd was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed working on and driving classic cars and spent time with others who were car enthusiasts in the car club. Snowmobiling and four-wheeling were also hobbies of Lloyd's, his favorite place to go was the Black Hills. Lloyd was a fan of car racing, traveling, country music and having coffee with friends. By far the most passionate thing in Lloyd's life was to spend time with Todd and Jill and his grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Todd (Jill); grandchildren: Gabriel and Isaak; sister Janice (Wayne) Olson, sisters-in-law, Bernice (Gene) Moseng, Bernice Norman, Bev Knutson, Lois Bordwell, Julie Olson; brothers-in-law: Steve Johnson, Rick Johnson as well as extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Ella & Floyd Norman); brothers: Don & Duane Norman; mother and father-in -law: Wimpy and Chuck Johnson; brothers-in-law: Doug Dahl, Lowell Knutson as well as aunts, uncles and friends.
