Lloyd Bueford Peterson

October 8, 1918 — June 10, 1998

Lloyd Bueford Peterson was born on October 8, 1918, to Evald and Minnie (Peterson) Peterson in Providence Township. He was baptized November 10, 1918, and confirmed November 27, 1932, at the Providence Valley Lutheran Church.  He attended country school at District 61 in Providence.  In 1942, Lloyd was united in marriage to Bernice Storlien at Borgund Lutheran Church and she died suddenly on February 10, 1945.  Lloyd farmed and lived his entire life in Providence Township.  On February 14, 1987, he married Evelyn (Ellefson) Medhaug at the Providence Valley Lutheran Church.
Lloyd served on the Providence Town Board for over 17 years and for 10 years on the Providence Maxwell Farmers Union Action Board.  He was active in his church serving on the cemetery board and for many years as an usher.  For close to 40 years he made the egg coffee for the men's breakfast and the annual Oyster Stew Supper.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping at Leech Lake, visiting, and having coffee with family and friends.
Lloyd died on Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, 2 days.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Peterson of rural Dawson; son, Robert (Pam) Peterson of Brooklyn Park, MN; daughter: Shirley (Mike) Vadnais of Vadnais Heights, MN; step-children: Allan Medhaug of Washington and Laurie (Paul) Peterson of Chippewa Falls, WI; 6 grandchildren: Scott Peterson, Paula (Tim) Hanauer, Michele (Jim) McCardle, and Caitlin, Claudia, and Eva Peterson; and 2 great-grandchildren: Lukas Peterson and Matthew McCardle; 1 sister, Adeline Spiess of Dawson; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice; and 2 brothers: Melden and Raymond.
