Lois V Berge

Lois Berge died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 91.

Funeral services will be held on August 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  Rev. Kristine Isder will officiate and interment will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the service.

Lois Vera Berge was born on August 2, 1929 at her grandparents home in Correll, MN to Irvin and Elsie (Thymian) Perseke.  She lived in rural Correll until she was in 9th grade and then moved to Lac qui Parle county.  She attended and graduated from Milan High School in 1947.  On April 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Walter Berge at Kviteseid Lutheran Church.  Besides raising a family Lois worked at the Milan Public Schools as a school cook for over 26 years.

Lois was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed sewing and reading in her spare time.  She was an excellent cook and baker and always had an abundance of cookies and bars in her freezer.  A favorite of many family and friends were her apple bars.

Lois is survived by her children: Jane Albrecht, Robert Berge, both of Montevideo; six grandchildren: Michele (Adam) Albright, Jennifer (John) Zurn, Angela (Brandon) Torgerson, Dan (Darcy) Albrecht, Derek Berge, Maegen (Travis) Honzay; 13 great-grandchildren: Andrew Albright, Josh Albright, Colin Zurn, Paris Zurn, Avery Albrecht, Isaac Albrecht, Sammy Torgerson, Noah Torgerson, Joseph Torgerson, Cory Torgerson, Heather Torgerson, Haeden Honzay, Cynthia Honzay; sister, Inez Golden, Danvers; brother: Neil (Clarice) Perseke, Dawson as well as extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Berge; sister, Mavis Berge; daughter-in-law, Cyndy Berge; brothers-in-law: Wallace Berge, Ray Golden, Harold Behrens; sister-in-law, Alda Behrens; nephew, David Perseke; niece, Pat Berge; great-nephew, Justin Berge.
