Lois Figgins

Lois Figgins of Montevideo and formerly of Milan, died on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Clara City Care Center at the age of 70. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Rob Kemppainen officiating. Interment will be at the Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Lois Ann (Hanson) Figgins was born on May 7, 1939 at Minneapolis, MN the daughter of George and Cora (Nelson) Hanson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957. Lois was united in marriage with Larry Figgins November 30, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis. They moved to Granite Falls in 1969 and later to Hastings, MN. Lois moved to Milan in the late 1990's where she was a cook at the Milan School. She was also a caregiver and was active in the Milan community. She loved kids and cooking and caring for others. She is survived by four children: Janet (and Ken) Wibben of Montevideo, MN, Mike (and Dawn) Figgins of Clear Lake, MN, Barb (and Steve) Greenfield of Montevideo, MN and Jim Figgins of Lakeville, MN; eight grandchildren: Joe, Kati, Chris, Stephanie, Josh, Sheena, Jesse, and Austin; one great-grandson, Nathan; and two sisters: Dolores (Don) Nelson of St. Louis Park, MN and Marlys Walton of Pine City, MN. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers: Bud, Bob, and Gene; and one sister, Betty Aydt.
