Lois Gustafson, of Montevideo, passed away Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 in her home at the age of 76.

Funeral services will be held at Hope Reform church in Montevideo, date to be determined, with a private family burial at Sunset Cemetery.

Lois Irene Gustafson was born February 18, 1948 in Montevideo, MN to Leslie and Irene (Wilking) Coy. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Lois was united in marriage to Ronald Franklin Gustafson on October 28th, 1967 at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Montevideo. They made their home in Woodlake, MN before moving to Appleton, MN where they raised two children. Ronald and Lois later moved to Montevideo in 2004.

Lois had various jobs throughout her life. She worked for SL-MTI in Montevideo for over 25 years and retired from there as a Manufacturing Engineer.

Lois enjoyed softball and bowling in her younger years. She was an experienced seamstress, loved flower gardening, was an avid quilter and a blue-ribbon pie maker. She enjoyed passing on her sewing and quilting experience to her daughter and grandchildren. After retirement, she ran a long arm quilting service out of her home. She loved volunteering her time delivering Meals on Wheels, teaching quilting classes and quilting with the ladies at Luther Haven. She was a gracious hostess and thoroughly loved having her family around her.

Lois is survived by her husband, Ronald; daughter, Lesley (Nick) Brellenthin of Hutchinson; son Stacey (Kelly) Gustafson of Ortonville; 6 grandchildren; Logan Hargrave of River Falls, WI, Jacey (Kyle) Hussong of Okabena, MN, Mackenzie (William) Hins of Sioux City, IA, Alexander Gustafson of Fargo, ND, Madeleine Gustafson of Ortonville, MN, and Nathaniel Gustafson of Ortonville, MN; one great-grandchild Judah Sitz of Okabena, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Irene Coy.
