Lois Rebecca (Bjornlie) Larson was born on September 6, 1944 in Dawson MN to Olaf and Olga (Dahl) Bjornlie. Lois attended school in Dist. 14 and later in Dawson. She was united in marriage with James Anderson in 1960 and together they had four children: Kim, Brad, Brian, and David. She worked at Control Data in Montevideo for many years. Lois was united in marriage with Maynard Larson on June 30, 1973 and added two more sons to their family, Matt and Steve. They made their home in Dawson before moving to Colorado, Watertown SD, and back to Dawson in 2003 to be closer to family. During this time, she was employed at Johnson Memorial Care Center until her retirement in 2006. In 2018 they moved to Montevideo, MN and spent their winters in Texas.
She enjoyed traveling, making special memories on her trip to Norway, camping in the mountains and spending time with family, especially the grandkids. Lois had a special affection for her wiener dogs. She found joy in watching the birds and raising monarch butterflies. Lois was a caring wife, a loving mother and grandmother, always insisting on being called Grandma Loey, never Great Grandma, even after having 16 great grandchildren. She always spoke what was on her mind and appreciated a good joke!
She is survived by her husband Maynard; five children: Brad Anderson of Denver, CO, Brian Anderson of Dawson, MN, David (Judy) Larson of Ham Lake, MN, Matt Larson of Granite Falls, MN, and Steve Larson of Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren: Sean, Ashley, Tacia, Brendon, Rachel, Danielle, Amanda, Kirsten, and Olivia; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Coley of Hull, GA and extended family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kim Martinez; a sister, Marian Bjornlie, and three brothers: Paul, Roger and David Bjornlie.
She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
