Lois Ludvigson, of Dawson, died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, rural Dawson. Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.
Lois Carol (Anderson) Ludvigson was born on December 29, 1927 in Maxwell Township to Axel and Jenny (Gullgren) Anderson. She was baptized on October 13, 1929. Lois attended District 58 and graduated from Dawson High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Harlan Thompson on March 19, 1949 at the Dawson Covenant Church. They made their home on the Thompson home farm in Providence until Harlan’s death in 1981. Following his death, Lois moved to Dawson. Lois married Stanley Ludvigson on December 2, 1989 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota, and they made their home on Stanley’s farm. The two of them moved to Dawson in 1997.
In life, Lois had many hobbies. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, farming, baking/cooking, canning, gardening, embroidery, making rugs with Stan, and traveling. She had spent many winters in Arizona. Lois was also a very active member of Providence Valley Lutheran Church.
Lois is survived by her step-children: David (Julie) Ludvigson of Madison, Charles (Barb) Ludvigson of Madison, LouAnn (Peter) Jacobson of Plymouth, and Janelle (Dan) Pederson of Sauk Rapids; step-grandchildren: Melissa (Luke) Oie, Ryan (Shanna) Ludvigson, Jonathan (fiancé Natasha) Ludvigson, Michelle (Dustin) Henkelman, Nate (Marisa) Ludvigson, Josh (Kristin) Ludvigson, Jacob Ludvigson, Luke (Jesseli) Jacobson, Leah (Christopher) Jacobson, Andrew (Jenna) Pederson, and Amy (Cody) Meyer; 21 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Hauge; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Anderson and Marlyce Ludvigson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harlan in 1981 and Stanley in 2013; siblings: Melvern (Lowell) Miller, Wallace (Evelyn) Anderson, Wesley Anderson, Milo Anderson, Ordell (Avis) Anderson, and Ardis (Grant) Olson; brothers-in-law, Wallace Hauge, Terry Thompson and Roger Ludvigson; and sisters-in-law: Carol (Russell) Olson and Audrey (Robert) Jordahl.
