Lois Vaughn, 80, of Montevideo, died Monday, December 18, 2000 at REM Golden in Montevideo.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 21, 2000 at 10:30 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Montevideo. Rev. Paul Losik officiated and interment was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Lois Mozell (Wright) Vaughn was born August 4, 1920 in Sparta, TN the daughter of James Everett and Effie May (Henderson) Wright. She was baptized at Indian Mound Baptist Church in 1936. She was united in marriage with Homer Vaughn July 3, 1937 in Sparta, TN. They lived in Tennessee, Michigan, and California. Homer died in February of 1986. Lois moved to Montevideo, MN in 1990. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Walling, TN and she enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, and fishing.
She is survived by five children: Charles Vaughn of Montevideo, MN, Ruby Collum of Montevideo, MN, Willine Martin and her husband Bill of Prairie Grove, AR, James Vaughn and his wife Lorene of Binger, OK, and Darrell Vaughn and his wife Juli of Lakeside, OR; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wright of Walling, TN; and two sisters: Beatrice Humphery of Walling, TN and Opal Woods and her husband Lewis of Walling TN.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Homer; two daughters: Shirley Gray on December 5, 2000 and a stillborn daughter Ellen Vaughn; three brothers: Thurman, Othel, and Clifton Wright; and two sisters: Odell Clark and a stillborn sister Genevia Wright.
