Lorraine Carol Bebensee

September 4, 1932 — September 2, 2016

Lorraine Bebensee died  on Friday, September 2, 2016 at home in Montevideo at the age of 83.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:30am  at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Donald S. McKee and Rev. Bob Knutson will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5 from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.  Visitation will continue at the church one hour before the service on Tuesday.

Lorraine Carol Bebensee was born in rural Dawson, MN on September 4, 1932 to Clarence and Myrtle (Boe) Anderson.  She attended school in Dawson.  On September 19, 1956 she married Clarence Schommer.  They made their home in Montevideo and had four children together.  Lorraine worked in production control at E & M Industries and was a supervisor at MTI.  Clarence died in 1986.  In June of 1995, Lorraine married Arland Bebensee at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.

Lorraine was active in the VFW Auxiliary and the Flying Geese Quilt Club.    She was on the general board for the Women of the ELCA and also worked for Mission action with making quilts for missions at Our Saviors.  She would also make quilts for baptisms and graduations.  Lorraine enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing.  She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Arland, her children: Ann (Danny) Hair of Fayetteville, TN, Deb Olson of Montevideo, MN, Tim (Lin) Schommer of Wichita Falls, TX; step-children: Pam (Tom) Payne of Brooklyn Park, MN and Paula (Curt) Graff of Hayes, VA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jerome (Donna) Anderson of Colfax, WI, Clarice (Darrold) Boettcher of Montevideo, MN and Julie (Harlan) Madsen of Lake Lillian, MN; as well as many other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence Schommer in 1986; a daughter, Shelley Hawkins; grandchild, Fawn Schommer; great-grandchild, Debra Garcia Olson; her sister, Judith Anderson and a brother, Ronald Anderson.
