Lorraine G. (Bergquist) Kintzi

December 22, 1915 — August 25, 2003

Montevideo

Lorraine Kintzi, of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 25, 2003 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 87.

Memorial Services will be conducted on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in St. James, MN with Rev. Donald Crissinger-Clark and Rev. Wayne Kopitzke officiating.  Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.

Lorraine G. (Bergquist) Kintzi was born on December 22, 1915 in St. James, MN to Sigfred and Emma (Peterson) Bergquist. She grew up in the St. James area and graduated from St. James High School in 1933.  She was united in marriage to Ernest Kintzi on July 3, 1937 in Iowa. They lived in Butterfield, MN, in Seattle, WA for about 5 years and back to the Butterfield area, where she lived until moving to Montevideo in 1995.  She was currently a  resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.  She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Butterfield, where she was an organist and a Sunday School Teacher and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Butterfield.  She later was a member of First Presbyterian in St. James.  She delivered meals on wheels, enjoyed crossword puzzles and cryptograms, was proud of her Swedish heritage, and was the resident piano player at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Lenning and Dennis of Montevideo, MN; sons: Terry Kintzi and Andi of Gillette, WY and Bruce Kintzi and Linda of Windom, MN; 8 grandchildren: Lorri Maus, Lisa Libaire, Jay (Patty) Lenning, Jack Lenning, Kelly Kintzi, Richard Kintzi, Heidi Kintzi, and Kyle Kintzi; and 8 great grandchildren: Nathan, Nikole, and Caitlin Maus, Stephanie Barron, Ashley and Tyler Lenning, and Kaylee and Chase Christenson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, an infant daughter Karen, a sister, Dolores Kintzi and by 3 brothers: Vincent, Donald and Richard Bergquist.
