Lorraine Nordby, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 86. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Lorraine Ann Nordby was born on December 10, 1921 in St. Paul, MN to Arthur and Marie (Erickson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and attended Montevideo Public Schools. On May 19, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Nordby in Montevideo. She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, going to the lake, fishing and traveling. She is survived by four children: Ronald (and Claudette) Nordby of Bloomington, MN, Roxanne (and Russell) Davis of Burnsville, MN, Janice Nordby of Montevideo and Kim (and Gary) Riley of Montevideo; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Carole (and Dick) Rodeberg of Montevideo; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1997; a granddaughter, Nichole Riley; and by a brother, Robert Johnson.
