Lorraine Helen (Strom) Seaquist was born on October 19, 1927, in Dawson, MN, to Alvin (Chub) and Lyla (Holtan) Strom. She attended Dawson Public Schools and graduated with honors in 1945. She went on to college and completed 3 years at St. Olaf College and one year at the University of Minnesota majoring in Home Economics.
In 1949, she married J. Weston Seaquist of Sister Bay, WI. Together they spent 28 years living in the Canal Zone, Republic of Panama, where they both taught in the school system. In 1980, they retired to the Dawson Community.
Rayne and Wes adopted 3 children: Maren, Mark, and Amy. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren, Tanna, Kyle, and Caitlin.
Lorraine died on Sunday, July 11, 1999, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, MN, during a short, but hard-fought battle with cancer.
She is survived by her children: Maren Seaquist and Mark Seaquist of Dawson, and Amy and son-in-law, Dave Bagaus, of Montevideo; 3 grandchildren: Tanna, Kyle, and Caitlin Bagaus; sister, Amy (Gordon) Lee of Glenwood; uncles, Ray and Chet Strom of Dawson; aunts, Ella Stenson of Hopkins and Alice Holtan of MT; brothers-in-law, Dale Seaquist of WI, Bob Seaquist of Chile, and Ted Forsman of AL; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Wes, on October 14, 1988.
