Lorraine Winter

April 4, 1929 — February 23, 1994

Lorraine Winter, 64, of Maynard died February 23, 1994 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26 at 2:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City.  Rev. Martin Lucin and Rev. Bradley Barr will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services.  There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Lorraine Caroline Drawert was born April 4, 1929 at Chicago, IL the daughter of Erich and Bertha (Dreher) Drawert.  She graduated from Parker High School and also attended Stenotype College.  Lorraine was united in marriage with Erwin Winter October 6, 1951 at Chicago, IL.  They made their home in Boyden, IA before moving to Maynard, MN in 1960.  She was employed by VSC in Clara City.  Lorraine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and as the President of the Ladies Aid.  She was serving as the Treasurer of the State Horticulture Society, was a member of the Maynard Garden Club, the Maynard Legion Auxiliary, the Republican Party, was a hospice volunteer, and served as the first women president of the Minnesota Flying Farmers.  Lorraine was the current MN Flying Farmer Queen.  She had a special love for growing flowers and had received many blue ribbons for her gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Erwin; three sons: Garret and his wife Sue of Montevideo, MN, Daniel and his wife Heidi of Glenwood, MN, and Timothy and his wife Kellie of Maxwell, IA; three grandchildren: Erich Winter of Glenwood, MN, Ross Winter of Montevideo, MN and Katie Winter of Montevideo, MN; her mother, Bertha Drawert of Evergreen Park, IL; one sister, Dorothy Sullivan of Evergreen Park, IL; one brother, Fred Drawert of Scottsdale, AZ; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her father, Erich Drawert in 1993.
