Lorraine “Lolly” Gilsrud, 75, of Montevideo died March 9, 2000 at the Redwood Falls Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, 2000, at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Rev. Douglas Olson and Rev. Warren Broughton officiated and interment was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Lorraine Margaurite (Swenson) Gilsrud was born November 19, 1924 at Montevideo, MN the daughter of Ernest and Mabel (Erickson) Swenson. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942. Lolly was united in marriage with Harlan Gilsrud April 1, 1945 in Montevideo, MN. They lived in St. Paul, Maynard, and Montevideo. She started working at the Chippewa County Courthouse in 1964, worked in the Register of Deeds/Recorders office from 1967-87 and was the County Recorder from 1982-86. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and its circle. Lolly was a member of Monte Merry Squares, enjoyed camping, fishing, making sweatshirts, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: Joy Jacobsen and her husband Gerald of Crivitz, WI, Kay Quenemoen of Montevideo, MN, and Scott Gilsrud of Redwood Falls, MN; five grandchildren: Tammy and Rick Schmitz, Brandy and Gene Streich, Jessica Mann, Brian Jacobsen, and Randall Jacobsen; three great-grandchildren: Joe Schmitz, Alexis Schmitz, and Gage Wambeke; two sisters: Iola Otterholt and her husband Howard of National City, CA and Vonnie Fragodt and her husband Kenny of Benson, MN; one sister-in-law, Eunice Swenson of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harlan in 1999; an infant daughter, Alane; an infant grandson, Rodney Jacobsen; one brother, Richard Swenson; and one sister-in-law, LaVon Hamilton and her husband Wayne.
