Louella Sylvia (Tobiason) Skogrand

LouElla Skogrand, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at Sunbridge in Montevideo at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Idstrom officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

LouElla Sylvia (Tobiason) Skogrand was born on June 4, 1919 at the home farm in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Andrew and Helga (Amundson) Tobiason. She was baptized and confirmed and later married by Rev, C.T. Jenson at Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  She attended rural school.  On September 27, 1939, LouElla was united in marriage to Arvid Skogrand at the Big Bend Parsonage.  They farmed their entire married life in Mandt Township.  LouElla moved off the farm and into Montevideo about 4 years ago and was currently living at Sunbridge Assisted Living.  She was a lifelong member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church and was active in many church activities.  She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary.  LouElla loved music, especially playing the piano and the accordian.  She liked to garden, being outdoors, doing yard work, entertaining friends and family, watching spectator sports, especially baseball, and was the neighborhood barber.

She is survived by three children: Robert Skogrand and his wife Carol of Brooklyn Park, MN, Delaine Skogrand of Bloomington, MN and Cindy Lee and her husband Ken of Montevideo; six grandchildren: Eric (Julie) Skogrand of Plymouth, MN, Kari (Erik) Torkelson of Manitowish Waters, WI, Roxanne (Tim) Tanner of Renville, MN, Jodi (Jon) Mix of Duluth, MN, Ryan (Amber) Lee of Appleton, MN and Brant (Patty) Skogrand of Apple Valley, MN; eleven great grandchildren: Will, Anna and Branson Skogrand; Ella Torkelson; Landon and Addyson Tanner; Emily, Lauren and Tyler Mix and Camryn and Jalyn Lee; a sister, Mildred Skogrand of Montevideo; three sisters-in-law: Elvera Raffelson, Delores (Don) Cornelius, and Leona Skogrand and two brothers-in-law: Orice Larson and Don (Pat) Skogrand; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arvid in 1983; three sisters: Margaret Fett and Stella and Evelyn Tobiason; four brothers: Art, Earl, Gilman and Raymond Tobiason; two sisters-in-law: Arlene Skogrand and Vivian Larson; four brothers-in-law: Clifford, Paul and Marlow Skogrand and Ingvald Raffelson.
