Louie Lauritsen, 80, of Montevideo died May 21, 1993 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24, 1993 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. Paul Anderson and Mr. Jay Dahlvang will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Monday.  There will be a prayer service on Sunday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Louie Elmo Lauritsen was born September 26, 1912 at Montevideo, MN the son of Mads Peter and Eliza Lauritsen.  He was baptized at Saron Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo on April 5, 1926.  Louie grew up in Leenthrop Township in Chippewa County.  He was united in marriage with Marvel Quaal on March 31, 1936 at Montevideo.  They farmed in the Montevideo area for 40 years before retiring in 1976, when they moved into Montevideo.  Louie was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marvel; one son Lyle and his wife Judy of West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, Sara, and Lindsey; three sisters: Anina Milbeck of Montevideo, Helga Wilson of California City, CA, and Emelia Mossman of Yucaipa, CA; one brother William and his wife Miranda of Montevideo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers: Paul, Fred, Richard, and Victor.
