Alice Louise Michaelson was born on March 19, 1922 in Montevideo to Samuel and Mable (Arneson) Michaelson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity church in Montevideo.  Louise grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1940.  Following graduation she got a job at the telephone office as a telephone operator in Montevideo.  She married Curtis Michaelson in 1946 and they made their home in Dawson where they raised two boys.  Louise moved to Brookside, first just for the winters, and then full time for the last ten years.  She then moved to Home Front First in June of 2015.

In early years Louise was active in the VFW Auxiliary in Dawson.  She served as an election judge  and a volunteer ombudsman for the elderly.  She enjoyed time at the cabin on Ottertail Lake as well as winters in California and Arizona.  Louise had a “green thumb” and could grow most anything but was especially proud of her Lady Slippers in the backyard.  Family will remember that Louise was an excellent baker serving wonderful rhubarb pie in the spring and apple pie in the fall.  She never missed an opportunity to add cream to what she was baking.

Louise is survived by her son: Paul (Cathy) Michaelson of Granite Falls; daughter -in- law Marcia Michaelson of Faribault; grandchildren: Tony Michaelson, Katie Michaelson, Jenny Kane,  Bonnie (Joe) Vininski and Laura (Chad) Smith; great-grandchildren: Sevin, Isaac, Wyatt and Sorn  as well as other extended  family.

She is preceded by her parents,  husband, Curtis, son, Gordon, and  siblings: Samuel Michaelson, Edith Michaelson, Judy Thalberg and Rachel Dahl.
