Lucille Anderson

Lucille Anderson, of Dawson, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 93.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the services in July.  Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Lucille Anderson was born February 18, 1924 in Canby, MN, daughter of Walter and Emelia (Peterson) Erickson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Providence Valley Lutheran Church.  She graduated from Dawson High School in 1942.  Following graduation, she worked for a short time in Tracy, MN.  She did office work in Portland, OR until she returned to Minnesota to help take care of her younger sisters during the illness of their father.  She married Richard Anderson at her parents’ home in Dawson on February 14, 1948.  Lucille was an excellent homemaker, active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid, and Homemakers.  She taught Sunday school and at one time was financial secretary at Grace Lutheran Church.  She lived her last nine years at the Dawson Care Center.

She is survived by three sisters: Priscilla Ellefson from Fort Collins, CO, Virginia (Charles) Sorby of Bullhead City, AZ, Elaine (Richard) Reynolds of St. Michael, MN; sister-in-law, Norma Erickson from Excelsior, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Walter and Emelia Erickson; her husband, Richard; brothers: Warren and Keith Erickson; sister, Marilyn O’Connell; sister-in-law, Nancy Erickson; and brothers-in-law: James O’Connell and Omar Ellefson.

Lucille was very kind and her family remembers that no one could laugh like Lucille.  She loved to have fun and have a good time.  Lucille led a good, long life and will be remembered by many family and friends.
