Lucy (Vanden Bosch) Van Rooyen

March 13, 1907 — September 30, 1994

Lucy Van Rooyen, 87, of Montevideo died September 30, 1994 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, MN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday October 4, 1994  at 10:30 A.M. at the Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo with Rev. Irwin Van Leeuwen officiating.  Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 P.M. and with a prayer service at 8 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Lucy (Vanden Bosch) Van Rooyen was born on March 13, 1907 in Boyden, IA to Gerrit and Mary (Vander Maaten) Vanden Bosch.  She grew up and attended rural schools near Boyden, IA.  On January 10, 1928 she was united in marriage to Clarence Van Rooyen in Boyden, IA.  They moved to Montevideo, Minnesota in 1951 and lived there until 1989 when she moved to the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, MN.  She was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo.  Lucy did upholstery work in Montevideo for many years.

She is survived by a son, Harvey (Joan) Van Rooyen of Sanborn, IA; by daughters:  Marilyn (James) Potter of Rochester, MN; and Luella (Paul) Strand of Boyd, MN; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; by sisters: Hattie Kreykes of Orange City, IA, Mina Horn of Boyden, IA, Gertie Schneider of Montevideo, MN, and Winnifred De Jong and Stella Pilney of Lubbock, TX; by a brother, Herman Vanden Bosch of Gregory, SD; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Clarence in 1984; a sister, Margarette Vanden Bosch; and a brother, Henry Vanden Bosch.
