Luther Norman Femrite

July 18, 1909 — July 27, 1998

Luther Norman Femrite was born July 18, 1909, in Maxwell Township, Lac Qui Parle County, MN, the son of Charles and Bertha (Neuhall) Femrite.  His childhood was spent with four sisters and three brothers on a farm south of Dawson.  He attended  country school in Maxwell Township.
On May 6, 1933, Luther was united in marriage to Viola Gruenberg.  To this union, two children were born: Joyce and Roger.  They farmed in rural Dawson until they moved into Dawson.  They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary shortly before Viola's death on June 22, 1990.  Luther was a life long farmer and was a partner to the land, it's seasons, sounds, sights, and smells.  He was a lifetime member of the Riverside-Grace Lutheran Church.
Luther passed away quietly in his sleep on Monday, July 27, 1998, at the Madison Lutheran Home at the age of 89 years and 9 days.
He is survived by his children: Joyce Jaeger and husband, Frank, of Anoka, MN, and Roger Femrite and wife, Joan, of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Murton Femrite and wife, Dorinda, of Dawson; sisters: Bethel Mork of Dawson and Althea Wold and husband, Lester, of Starbuck, MN; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ann Elizabeth Jaeger; brothers: Carmen, Herbert, Ervin, and Chester Femrite; and sisters: Helen Bregel and Dorinda Wold.
