Lydia Kling, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, March 9, 1997 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 12 at 1:30 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church of Sparta Township with Rev. Richard Hamlow officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Lydia Alvina (Ost) Kling was born on July 9, 1904 in Montevideo, MN to Adolph and Tillie (Weckwerth) Ost. She was baptized and confimed at St. John's Lutheran Church and attended schools at rural district #7. She was united in marriage to Edward Kling on March 20, 1923 at St. John's Lutheran. They farmed for many years before retiring in the early 1970's. She moved into Montevideo in 1976 and entered the Luther Haven Nursing Home in January of 1995. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in it's women's groups.
She is survived by a son - LaVonn "Tip" and his wife Darlene of Lamberton, MN; grandchildren - Verlyn (Barbara) Kling of Granite Falls, MN; Diana (Robert) Lange of Kimball,MN; Carol (Wilbur) Norman of Park Rapids, MN; Steve (Karen) Kling and Scott (Victoria) Kling, both of Montevideo; 16 great grandchildren; 10 great, great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Edward in 1978 by sisters - Mabel Syde and Ilene Bogan; by brothers - Fred Ost and Carl Ost; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
