Lydia Ida (Wollschlager) Teichert

Montevideo

Lydia Teichert, of Montevideo, died Friday on April 21, 2006 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 91.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Kurt Hoover officiating.  Interment  will be in the  Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with the family from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Lydia Ida (Wollschlager) Teichert was born on May 19, 1914 in Grace Township, Chippewa County, to Reinhold and Clara (Erdner) Wollschlager.  She was baptized on May 31, 1914 and confirmed on September 25, 1927 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and attended rural school in Dist. 53.  On September 13, 1930 she was united in marriage to Walter Teichert at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock.  They farmed in Grace Township for 44 years and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent.  They retired and moved into Montevideo in 1975.  They joined Our Savior's Lutheran Church in 1982.  In 1998 she moved to Luther Haven, where she has resided since.  Her interests included gardening, canning, cooking, baking, crafts, watching Twins games, enjoying animals and dogs and most importantly spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter,  Beverly Burgess and her husband Rodger of Marshall, MN;  a son,  LaVern Teichert and his wife LeNae of Montevideo, MN; five grandchildren: Rick Burgess and his wife Becky, Tim Burgess and his wife Eileen, Bonna Fischer and her husband Bill, Carrie Rongstad and her husband Jeremy, and Paul Teichert and his fiance Laura Sletten; six great-grandchildren: Daniel and Jennifer Burgess, Zachary and Sam Fischer and Mason and Lana Rongstad; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter in 1988; a great-grandson; four brothers: Alfred, Erick, Edwin, and Arthur Wollschlager; three sisters: Erna Eisenlohr, Esther Morlock, and Ella Norman; and a half sister, Agnes Maus.
