Mabel C. (Fremo) Haugum was born on November 20, 1902 in Lac Qui Parle Co., Minnesota to Jens and Carrie Fremo. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter and attended rural schools. In 1920 she was united in marriage to Johan Haugum in Madison,Mn. She lived most of her lifetime in Montevideo where she was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and active in it's Ladies Aid and Circle, was a member of the Sons of Norway Lodge,V.F.W. Auxillary, and the Rebeccas. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo for several years.
Mabel died on Saturday July 17 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 90. She is survived by a son - Donald(wife-Dolores) of Glenwood,Mn. and by a daughter Jeanette(Husband - Gordon) Anderson of Alexandria,Mn.; by grandchildren-Brad(wife Diana) Haugum; John(wife-Jan) Haugum; Kent Haugum; Jan(husband - Tom) Westlund; Jonal(Husband Matt) Krueger; Bonnie(husband-Keith) Melville; Grady(wife-Belinda) Anderson; Caryn(husband - Mark) Bongard; and Julie(husband - Dave) Polloch; by 12 great grandchildren; and by a brother - Olaf(wife - Myrtle) Fremo of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Johan in 1980, and by a sister - Valborg Dale in 1975.
