M. Donald Rue, formerly of Montevideo, died on Monday, February 8, 1999 in Roseville, MN at the age of 94.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo. Burial will be in the Sunset memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Malcolm Donald Rue was born on September 4, 1904 in Lac Qui Parle Co., Minnesota to John and Oline (Nilson) Rue. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1922. On October 24, 1936 he was united in marriage to Naomi Ahrens in Aberdeen, SD. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad as a freight service inspector and stockyard foreman living in Aberdeen, SD, Deer Lodge, MT and Harlowton, MT before retiring in 1971 after 45 years with the railroad. He was an active member of the Lutheran Church in the communities where he lived He lived in Fergus Falls, MN for several years in the early 1980's. He has been a resident of the White House Good Samaritan Home in Roseville, MN for the past ten years.
He is survived by a daughter - Marilyn McGowan and her husband Jim of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren - Jim (Maren) McGowan of St. Paul, MN; Kathy McGowan of St. Paul, MN; Jay (Kim) McGowan of Golden Valley, MN; Krisi (David) Matenaer of Minneapolis, MN and Kelsey Enfield of Las Vegas, NV; and Great Grandchildren - Kilty, Caitlin, Tyler, Joshua; Jordan; Anna and Samuel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi in 1972; by an infant son; by brothers - Harold & Raymond Rue and by sisters - Martha Rue, Edith Rue and Flora Felber.
