Manda Olson, formerly of the Milan area, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Appleton Nursing Home at the age of 94. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Cathie Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran Milan Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Manda Juliet (Heimdahl) Olson was born on January 5, 1918 in Lac qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Peter and Selma (Hoven) Heimdahl. She was baptized February 12, 1918 and confirmed November 27, 1932 at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church. Manda was united in marriage with William L. Olson June 23, 1951 at the Big Bend Parsonage. They lived on a farm north of Milan. She was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church and as active in its women's groups. She had been a resident of the Appleton Nursing Home for the past several years. Manda enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, flowers, and especially entertaining company. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (and Ken) Chevalier of Plainview, MN; two grandchildren: Michele Chevalier of Sioux Falls, SD and Mary (Corey) Tentis of Potsam, MN; and four great-grandchildren: Brittney and Damon Whaley, Ryan Hollingsworth and Alex Tentis. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William in 1996; twin daughters: Marion Louise and Mary Lucille; three brothers: Harold, Arthur, and Gottfried Heimdahl; and two sisters: Signora Fragodt and Doris Fragodt.
