Marcella Anderson, of Montevideo, died on Monday December 25, 1995 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 75. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday December 29 at 1:30 PM at the Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. Iler Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Marcella Charlotte (Kolstad) Anderson was born on September 2, 1920 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Nordan and Alfa (Falla) Kolstad. She was baptized at Jevnaker Lutheran Church of rural Montevideo and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Montevideo. She attended Montevideo public schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1938. She worked for the Draft Board for several years before uniting in marriage to Menferd Anderson on April 28, 1945 in Montevideo. They farmed for many years in Lisbon Township of Yellow Medicine Co. In 1992 she moved to Montevideo and made her home in the Windom Apartments. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church and active in it's women's groups.
She is survived by a granddaughter - Amber Anderson of Clarkfield,MN; by a sister - Lucille Charnstrom and her husband Seymour of Montevideo; by nieces - Pam Tangeman of Kent,WA; Sally Rose of Vancouver,WA: and Barbara Pease of St. James,MN; and by a nephew -Roger Tangeman,Jr. of Spokane,WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Menferd in 1983; by sons - Merle and Bruce Anderson; and by a sister - Vernae Tangeman.
