Marcella Schreiber of Montevideo died on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home at the age of 85.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo with Father Paul Timmerman as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Marcella Ann Elizabeth Schreiber was born on April 19, 1936 in Dundee, Minnesota to John and Della (Oman) Schmitz.
Marcella, “Sis”, “Sassy Sally” and “Mom” was a lady of many names all of which were given to her with love and respect. Sally passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021, surrounded by her four daughters, Kathryn, Lorinda, Lucinda, Jacqueline and her niece, Missy Hermanson, who helped guide Mom.
We always remember having kids ask to stay at “Sally’s house. We grew up with a close family that included cousins who were like brothers and sisters. “Mom, we thank you for that!”
“There are some who bring light so great to the world that even after the have gone the light remains.” “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day”. These words are how we will remember, Marcella Ann Elizabeth Schreiber, our Mom.
Marcella is survived by her four daughters, Kathryn Schreiber, Lorinda Stensrud, Lucinda Ries, Jacqueline Cronin, 7 grandchildren, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by Lillian (Gary) Bue, “Sis’s baby sister, who was one of Sally’s six siblings. She will be with us today to be part of the celebration of life for Marcella . Sally’s brothers Leo Schmitz, Roy Schmitz, Melvin Schmitz, and Donald Schmitz and her sister, Deloris Barger wait for her in heaven along with her mother and father, John P and Della Schmitz.
