Margaret Abel, of Watson, died on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Clara City Care Center at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Margaret Jane (Sharp) Abel was born on November 24, 1922 in Canby, MN to Roy and Margaret (Miller) Sharp. She was baptized in Canby and later confirmed in Clara City. She attended rural schools and graduated from Canby High School in 1940. On March 18, 1945 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Abel in Clara City. They lived in Montevideo, in upstate New York for 27 years and in Watson for the past 22 years. She was currently a resident of the Clara City Care Center. She was a member of Watson Lutheran Church and its womens groups. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, playing cards and sewing. She is survived by her husband Wilbur; a daughter Virginia Schnaible and her husband Richard of Carson City, NV; four grandchildren: Rebecca (and Rudy) de Leon; Zachary (and Shannon) Schnaible; Nathan (and Kerri) Schnaible and Aaron (and Kelly) Schnaible; two great grandchildren: Moises de Leon and Natalie Schnaible and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Harold and Clarence Sharp and by a sister, Lois Schmidt.
