Margaret Claire (Grover) Hubel

Margaret Hubel, of Maynard, died on Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998 as a result of an automobile accident at the age of 55.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 25, 1998 at 11:30 A.M. at Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard, MN with Rev. Mary Hovland and Rev. Nathan Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in the Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby, MN.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the family from 6 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Margaret Claire (Grover)Hubel was born on November 29, 1942 in Ashby, MN to M. Donovan and Myrtle (Libke) Grover.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church and grew up in Ashby. She  graduated from Ashby High School in 1960.  In September, 1960, she was united in marriage to Dennis Helle.  They lived in Ashby and Browns Valley, MN before moving to Maynard, MN in 1972.  She was later united in marriage to David Hubel on July 10, 1987 at the Maynard Lutheran Church.  She worked for a time at Data 100 in Montevideo and has been employed by Thorstad Construction in Maynard for the past 20 years.  She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maynard and was currently a member of the Maynard Lutheran Church.  She was a member of the Maynard Lions Club, was a member of the singing group “Steppin Out”, and enjoyed music, time at the lake with grandkids and family and reading.

She is survived by her husband, David; five children: Denise (Steve) Miller of Maynard, MN, Daniel (Rosanne) Helle of Montevideo, MN, Deborah Knoshal and friend Brian Griffin of Coon Rapids, MN, Heidi (Kenneth) Krull of Rocklin, CA, and Heather Hubel of Maynard, MN; seven grandchildren: Tyler Knoshal, Hailey Griffin, Nicholas and Thomas Miller, Samantha and Shelby Helle, and Gage Krull; by her father, M. Donovan Grover of Ashby, MN; seven brothers and sisters: Kathleen (Robert) McNeeley of Ashby, MN, Donovan (Ann) Grover of Brooklyn Center, MN, David (Donna Jean) Grover of Ashby, MN, Rose Marie (Donald) Nissen of Fargo, ND, Tom (Terry) Grover of Ashby, MN, Becky (Don) Amundson, Ashby, MN, and Robert (Donna Faye) Grover of Ashby, MN; her mother-in-law, Helen Hubel of Maynard, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and by a sister, Elizabeth in infancy.
