Margaret Norman, 58, of Montevideo died March 23, 1999 at her home near Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Douglas Olson will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Margaret LaVerne (Mills) Norman was born on July 14, 1940 in Montevideo to Lee and Florence (Sumner) Mills. She was baptized and confirmed at First Congregational Church in Montevideo. She attended Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1958. Later in life she attended Willmar Community College. On September 13, 1958 she was united in marriage to Douglas Norman at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She worked for several years at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital, at Chippewa Co. Community Corrections, and at her greatest love - Brookside Manor until her retirement in August of 1997. She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she was a Deaconess, a member of the Lydia Circle, Altar Guild, Personnel Committee, the funeral committee and sang with the Contemporary Worship Group. She started the Town and Country Homemakers Club 39 years ago, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed bridge, decorating, flowers, being at the lake and her grandsons.
She is survived by her husband Douglas; by a son - James D. Norman of Zion, IL; by daughters - Pamela Westman and her husband Randy of Mankato, MN and Jill Norman of Mankato, MN; grandsons - Jimmy and Andy of Virginia Beach; her mother - Florence Mills of Montevideo; by as sister - Jane Andresen and her husband Roger of Montevideo; by brothers - Richard Mills of Edina, MN and Robert Mills of Montevideo; a mother - in - law - Victoria Norman of Montevideo; as well as by 5 nieces and nephews and 7 Godchildren.
Preceding her in death were her father - Lee Mills and father-in-law - Ole Norman.
