Margaret Elise (Meyer) Teigen

Margaret Teigen, of Montevideo, died on Monday, January 5, 2004 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 2:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and one hour prior to services at the church.

Margaret Elise (Meyer) Teigen was born on October 7, 1907 in Brooks, MN to Albert and Hannah (Jahnke) Meyer.  She was baptized and confirmed at Wylie Lutheran Church in Wylie, MN and attended rural schools.  She attended Business College in Crookston, MN for a year and was employed by the Land & Insurance Office for 10 years and the Red Lake Falls High School for 5 years. On October 10, 1942 she was united in marriage to Clifford Teigen in Tacoma, WA.  They moved to Montevideo in 1945.  She worked at Wards and Culligan in Montevideo before retiring.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and later Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson.  She has been a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home since 1997.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford in 2000; two brothers: Arthur and Gustave Meyer; and one sister, Myrtle Larson.
