Margaret "Marge" Nellie (Person) Fundingsland

Margaret "Marge" Fundingsland, 88, of Montevideo died April 5, 1997 at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London, MN.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 1997 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Alvin G. Lewis, Jr. and Rev. Timothy Lindhorst will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

There will be no visitation for Mrs. Fundingsland.

Margaret Nellie (Person) Fundingsland was born November 20, 1908 at Montevideo, MN the daughter of Anders and Anna (Falla) Person.  She attended school in Montevideo and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Margaret was united in marriage with Reuben Fundingsland September 5, 1928 at Dawson, MN.  They lived in the family home on South 6th Street in Montevideo which her parents owned and they purchased after the death of her father.  They celebrated 55 years of marriage before Reuben died in 1983.  She enjoyed baking, lefse making, and crocheting. But her greatest love was small children.  Marge belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church her entire life and was a member of the Ladies Aid.  She had been living at GlenOaks Care Center the past four years.

She is survived by four children: Roger Fundingsland and his wife Deloris of New London, MN, Betty Nesbitt and her husband Bill of Bloomington, MN, Peggy (Margaret) Johnson and her husband Berge of Spicer, MN, and Kristin Doyle and her husband Cecil of Marshall, MN; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law: Pearl Person of Minneapolis, Loretta Person of Annandale, MN, Emily Person of Minneapolis, MN, and Evelyn Volden of Montevideo, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Reuben; and three brothers: Clarence, Andrew, and Alfred Person.
