Maria Redmond

Maria Redmond died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at her home in Dawson at the age of 60.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Madison.  Pastor Eric Spickelmier will officiate and burial will be at St. Dionysius Cemetery in Tyler.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:00 PM.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.

Maria Kathrine (Thooft) Redmond was born June 15, 1961 in Tyler, MN the daughter of Amandus and Leona (Lalamen) Thooft.  She graduated from Tyler High School in 1979 and later graduated from Wichita State University.  She lived in Colorado for 10 years and then in Missouri before moving to Madison in 2010.  She moved to Dawson in 2013.  Maria worked as a physical therapist.  She enjoyed horses, being active in her church, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters: Anna Redmond of Sioux Falls and Elizabeth (Anthony Schoep) Redmond of Dawson; a granddaughter, Haven Schoep; her mother, Leona Thooft of Tyler; and her siblings: Art, Teresa Lee, Louise Soucie, Ellen Popowski, Monica Thooft, Matt, Phil, Paul, Ben, Leonard, Charlie, Chris and Joe.

Preceding her in death were her father and a son, Aaron.
