Marian “Molly” Olson, 72, of Montevideo died suddenly Friday, April 30, 1999, at her home in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Lois D. Knutson will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:30 P.M.

Marian Pearl (Sather) Olson was born November 21, 1926 in Cashel Township, Swift County, MN the daughter of Mervin and Pauline (Antolick) Sather.  She was baptized January 9, 1927 and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1940.  She attended country school and worked on the family farm.  Marian was united in marriage with Lloyd Olson May 7, 1949.  They lived in Big Bend City until moving to Montevideo in 1954.  Together they raised a large family.  Marian was an ambitious collector of dolls, rings, and cups and saucers.  She loved a good cup of coffee and hosted many coffee parties over the years.  Marian was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; seven children: Dennis Olson and his wife Linda of Moose Lake, MN, Marie Lindblad and her husband David of Maple Grove, MN, Karen Herrboldt and her husband Richard of Excelsior, MN, Rutti Strand and her husband Roger of Milan, MN, David Olson and his fiance Nancy of Willmar, MN, Susan Schoep and her husband Jay of Montevideo, MN, and Daniel Olson and his wife Denise of Chanhassen, MN; 23 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Verona (Ted) Skare of Burnsville, MN, Marge (Gerald) Commerford of Buffalo, MN, and Diane (Burton) Iverson of Austin, MN; numerous relatives and many dear friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Douglas; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Schoep; and one sister, Doris Collins.
