Marie Aarhus, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at her home at Home Front in Montevideo at the age of 99. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Jay Grave officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Marie Augusta (Kirmis) Aarhus was born on September 24, 1911 in Jud, ND to William and Elilie (Wagner) Kirmis. She grew up in Jud and attended school there. On August 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Aarhus in Rochester, MN. They lived in Richmond, CA for two years before moving to the Big Bend, MN area. She moved into Montevideo in 1980 and was currently a resident at Home Front. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert in 1967; two brothers: Delbert and Walter Kirmis; a sister, Lorraine Kerber and by an infant twin sister, Margaret.
