Marietta Miller

Marietta Miller, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 69.  Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Marietta Mae (Stotz) Miller was born on May 15, 1943 in Gettysburg, SD to Alfred and Leona (Hettich) Stotz.  She grew up in Redfield, SD, attending elementary school there and attended Plainfield Academy. She later earned her GED at the age of 41.  On February 14, 1959 she was united in marriage to Darvin Miller in Poteau, OK.  They lived in Redfield, Huron and Aberdeen, SD and Pipestone and Starbuck, MN before moving to Montevideo in 1978. She worked as an Avon representative for over 30 years and worked at MTI in Montevideo.  She enjoyed camping, crocheting, traveling and her dogs.

She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Stone of Montevideo and Terry Staab (and special friend Mike Dupere) of Montevideo; grandchildren: Dustin (and Megan) Stone, Ariel Stone (and friend Devin Olson), Bobby Jo (and David) Carnahan, Michelle (and John) Selby, Trevor Miller and Christopher (and Trish) Staab; great grandchildren: Brayden, Lola, Trayton, Raelynn, Kierra, Koty and Jaiden and a former son-in-law, Robert Staab.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darvin in 2000; a son, Michael Dean Miller on March 24, 1964; a brother, Ivan Stotz in 2006; and a son-in-law, Roland Stone in 2002.
