Marilyn (Just) Guse

Marilyn (Just) Guse died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 84. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Marilyn Lois (Johnson) Just Guse was born August 7, 1927 at Montevideo, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Lida (Williamson) Johnson. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and attended school in Montevideo. She was united in marriage with Milfred Just on June 10, 1945. They made their home on a family farm near Granite Falls. They were members at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Granite Falls until they moved to Montevideo in 1952. They joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1953. She worked as a sales clerk at Stevenson's, S & L, Hanson's Children's Store and she also worked as a school aide. Milfred died November 9, 1973. Marilyn was united in marriage with Robert Guse September 3, 1976. They lived in Montevideo and Mesa, AZ. Robert died November 13, 2005. She was a member of church circle, a Girl Scout leader and Welcome Wagon hostess. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, painting, crafts, playing bridge with her friends and other card games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by three daughters: Susan (Merton) Wischmann of Little Falls, MN, Nancy (Butch) West of Granite Falls, MN, and Judy (Donald) Blackwell of Crosslake, MN; 11 grandchildren: Lori (Mike) Thomas, Chad (Rene) Wischmann, Angela (Joshua) Zehoski, Michelle (Lloyd) Juel , Michael (Amber Fenger) West, Justin (Christine) West, Jessica West, Gabe Eischens, Mitchell (Kristi) Eischens, Marci (Joe) Sussenguth, and Melissa (Nick) Hadfield; 1 step- granddaughter: Sheila (Jeff) VanOverbeke; 21 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Isabella, Isaiah, Moriah, Jonah, Hannah, Jordan, Austin, Garrett, Derek, Bryson, Clayton, Jazlyn, Shyann, Sarana, Cole, Connor, Nolan, Ella, Brady, Madalynn; 2 step-great-grandchildren: Elijah, Chad; and 1 step-great-great- granddaughter Brailee. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands: Milfred Just and Robert Guse; her brother, Darwin Johnson; and step-great-grandson, Bradley VanOverbeke.
