Mario Isaac Salazar (Muñoz)

Mario (Muñoz) Salazar, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Montevideo at the age of 27.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 2:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo with Father Zachary Peterson presiding.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday June 9, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 5:00 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Mario Isaac Muñoz Salazar was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on January 3, 1992 to Mario Muñoz and Barbara (Rubio) Salazar. The family moved to Minnesota in September of 1993 and lived in the Marshall  and Granite Falls area.  Mario attended school at Echo Charter School and graduated in 2010.  He attended Minnesota West in Worthington following graduation.  He worked a variety of jobs in the area before moving to the Twin Cities where he worked for Goliath Hydrovac.

Mario enjoyed basketball, football, snowmobiling, fishing and motorcycles.   Most of all Mario loved spending time with his family and friends and his two dogs, Bowser and Chapo.

He is survived by his parents: Mario Muñoz and Luis and Barbara Salazar, siblings: Benjamin Salazar, Stephanie Salazar, Junior Salazar, Nikki Salazar, Brittany Salazar, Cheyenne Salazar; grandparents: Luz and Benjamin Hernandez, Rosario Bañuelos, Mercedes Rubalcaba, and Manuel Rubio.

He was preceded in death by his grandparent, Benjamin Muñoz.
