Marjorie Fandrey, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Christopher Lieske officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and at the church for one hour before the services on Saturday. Marjorie Sylvia (Anderson) Fandrey was born on August 17, 1918 in Yellow Medicine County, MN to Selmer and Mabel (Holtan) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church, attended rural schools and graduated from Granite Falls High School. On December 11, 1938 she was united in marriage to Edwin Fandrey. They farmed in Rosewood Township of Chippewa County. She moved into Montevideo in 1997 and has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past year. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was very active in its women's groups. She had been a member of a homemakers group and enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and knitting. Marjorie is survived by two children: Sharon Byrne of Minnetonka, MN and Curtis Fandrey and his wife Mary of Bloomington, MN; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Vivian Anderson of Montevideo; as well as by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin in 1991; a son-in-law, Michael Byrne; and two brothers: Wallace and Clifford Anderson
