Marlyn Rud of Montevideo died on Friday, July 15, 2022 at CCM Health in Montevideo at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Burial will be in Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Marlyn Virginia (Svor) Rud was born on February 25, 1926 in Sheyenne, ND to Eivind and Mabel (Hanson) Svor. She was baptized and confirmed at Mandt Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo. Marlyn attended rural school and graduated from Milan High School in 1943. On June 25, 1950, Marlyn was united in marriage to Chester Rud at Mandt Lutheran Church. They raised 3 children together.
Marlyn was active in her church with the Ladies Aid at Jevnaker and then eventually in later years at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Mandt Homemakers Club and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, flower gardening and playing cards.
Marlyn is survived by her children: Jane Rud of Murrells Inlet, SC, Jerome Rud of Greencastle, IN, and Judith (Jim) White of Murrells Inlet, SC; three grandchildren: Randy (Ryan) Rud-Cloud, Patrick (special friend Catherine Martinez) Rud, and Kaitlyn White; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester in 2005; daughter-in-law, Agnes Rud; and brother, Jack Svor.
