Marvin “Pete” Howard died January 9, 2006 at his home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Tim Ehling will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 5-7:00 PM and a prayer service at 5:00 PM.
Marvin Wilbert Howard was born July 23, 1940 at Appleton, MN the son of Wilbert and Emma (Reinke) Howard. He attended school in Appleton. Pete was united marriage with Julene Groothuis November 28, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City, MN. They made their home in Montevideo and Pete worked as a cooling and heating technician for Cenex for over 30 years. Julene died April 20, 2000. Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters: Lori Schmaedeka and her husband James of Clara City, MN and Angela Quistad and her husband Gary of Andover, MN; four grandchildren: Kayla (fiancé Justin Janachovsky) Schmaedeka, Joshua Schmaedeka and Amanda and Briana Quistad; four brothers: Bruce (Gail) Howard of Butternut, MN, Brad (Lori) Howard of Kandiyohi, MN, Jim (Doris) Howard of Belgrade, and Mark (Nancy) Howard of Eden Valley, MN; three sisters: Marlys Olson of Dawson, MN, Mary (Bob) Folstad of Hopkins, MN, and Terry (Bill) Lease of Grove City, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Julene; his parents: Wilbert and Emma Howard; his step-mother, Ann Howard; and one brother in infancy.
