Mary Suchanek, of Montevideo, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 80.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Joseph in Montevideo. Fr. Paul Timmerman will be the Celebrant. Private family interment.
Mary Frances (Caye) Suchanek was born November 18, 1934 to Emery and Olga (Schleeter) Caye in Olivia, MN. Mary went to school in Olivia and graduated in 1953 and went on to get her license in practical nursing.
Mary was united in marriage to Lawrence Suchanek on September 4, 1954 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. They made their home in Minneapolis, Winnebago, and Clara City, MN before moving to Montevideo in 1958. Mary loved to do outdoor activities such as camping, playing golf, playing in softball leagues, and also worked in a greenhouse for a few years. Most of all, she loved her Minnesota Twins and Vikings and rarely missed a game.
Mary is survived by her children: Larry (Julie) Suchanek Jr. of Montevideo, MN, Barbara (Terry) Auren of Coon Rapids, MN, Joseph Suchanek of Osseo, MN, and Philip Suchanek of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren: Zach and Garett Suchanek, Brian White, and Mallory (Brad) Sibley; two great-grandchildren: Jaden and Christopher Sibley; a brother, Terry; and sisters: Donna, Junia, and Corrine; as well as two nephews: Frank Dahlman and Michael Olson.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Larry Sr. in 2003.
