Merald Lee

September 2, 1931 — February 7, 2014

Merald Lee, of Montevideo, died on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 82.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Eunice Woodberry officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Merald Alfred Lee was born on September 2, 1931 in Clarkfield, MN to Alfred & Emma (Holm) Lee.  He was Baptized at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and Confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo. He grew up in the Clarkfield area and moved to a farm in rural Montevideo as a teenager.  He served in the US Army from 1952 - 1954 and in the Reserves until 1960. On July 16, 1960, he was united in marriage to Evonne Sandberg at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  They lived and farmed on his family’s farm in rural Montevideo before retiring in 1987 and moving into Montevideo.  Following his retirement, he kept busy helping farmers with their work , especially liking to drive tractor. He has been a resident of Copper Glen for several years and was very active in all their activities.  He had been a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church where he had been a member of the choir, served on the church council and was a Sunday School teacher. Merald was currently a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  He was a member of American Legion Post #59 in Montevideo and sang in a barbershop chorus.  He enjoyed fishing, dancing, bowling, playing cards, visiting and telling stories with friends and family, his daily devotions  and going to the trailer at the lake..

He is survived by five children: Steven  Lee of New London, MN; Pamela (Steve)  Brogaard of Colorado Springs, CO; Patty (Lynn) Molden of Montevideo, MN; Cheryl (Kevin) Lee of Montevideo, MN and Cathy (John) Olsen of Chico, CA; nine grandchildren: Amanda Bramstedt, Christopher Lee, Makayla Lee, Joshua Lee, Ryan Molden, Brenin Molden, Teagan Molden, Erin Anspach, and Zachary Anspach; ten great-grandchildren: Connor, Hunter and Ryker Bramstedt; Graeme Molden; Drake, Foxx and Ava Johnson; Joya Anspach; and Kailey and Madison Lee; and a brother, L. Robert Lee of Montevideo;

He was preceded in death by his  parents; his wife, Evonne in 2006; and by two sisters, Adeline Christenson and Evelyn Meyer.
