Merton Rosen, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, December 19, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 65.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 3:00 PM and with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Merton Dale Rosen was born on December 24, 1936 in Montevideo, MN to Clarence and Hazel (Stevens) Rosen. He was baptized on April 25, 1937 and attended Montevideo schools. A lifelong resident of Montevideo, he was employed by Jack & Dora Mooney for more than 25 years and at Friendship Homes for the past 17 years. Merton enjoyed stock car racing, bowling, hunting, collecting toy tractors, farming, auto repairs and spending time with his many nieces, nephews and friends. He loved to cook meals and bake cookies and he shared his treats with everyone he knew. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by four brothers: Clarence Rosen, Jr. and his wife Betty of Wayzata, MN, Everett Rosen and his wife Lee of Alexandria, MN, Wayne Rosen and his wife Annette of Clara City, MN and Gale Rosen and his wife Ardelle of Raymond, MN; three sisters: Rosemary Pederson and Kay Rhode and her husband Dennis of Montevideo and Sharon Anderson and her husband Gary of Dawson, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bill Buseman
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hazel Rosen and by an infant sister, Terry Lynn Rosen.
