Michael Andrews, of Watson, died on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his home at the age of 48. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Gene Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Michael Allen Andrews was born on April 21, 1963 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo to Allen and Yvonne ( Kolstad) Andrews. He was baptized on May 19, 1963 and also confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church. He graduated from Milan High School in 1981 as the Salutatorian of his class. He went on to further his education at St. Olaf College in Northfield , MN, where he earned a B.A. in 1985 in mathematics with a concentration in computer science. Michael was employed at United Health Care in Hopkins, MN for many years before returning to the Watson area about six years ago. He was a life-long member of Big Bend Lutheran Church. He was very active in the MN Genealogy Society, especially documenting cemeteries, and enjoyed astronomy and computer science. He is survived by his parents, Allen and Yvonne Andrews; a sister, Michele Skogrand and her husband Wayne of Montevideo; two nephews: Andrew and Dusten Skogrand; numerous cousins and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and by a cousin, Noel Mitteness.
