Mildred V. Dale was born to parents Andrew and Lenora (Quass) Anderson on October 26, 1912, in Hamlin Township, rural Madison. She was baptized December 15, 1912, and confirmed May 22, 1927, at Ness Lutheran Church, Madison.
She attended elementary school at Hamlin Consolidated and graduated from Madison High School in 1930. She took teachers training at Madison in 1930-1931, and continued her education at Moorhead State University. She taught for many years in rural schools in Lac Qui Parle county and the 6th grade in Milan for eight years.
On May 27, 1939, Mildred was united in marriage to Clarence Dale at Madison. To them was born one son, Charles.
Mildred enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, her home, and spending time with family and friends. She was active in her church choir, Sunday school, and WELCA.
Mildred died on Thursday, May 11, 2000, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
She leaves to mourn her son Charles; sisters-in-law: Agnes Sorkness and Helen Dale of rural
Dawson and Bessie Dale of the Johnson Memorial Home; 5 nephews, 6 nieces, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence on April 1, 1999; brother, Arthur Anderson; and eight sisters: Lillian Reins, Emma Swenson, Henrietta Sargent, Judith Anderson, Beulah Kirby, Mabel Anderson, Ruth Dale, and Ann Willis.
